During the period from July 17 to 18 of this year, a delegation from the Chinese Technology Transfer Center for the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, led by Deputy Director Liu Hungji, visited the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On July 17, meetings were held in Tashkent with Shakhlo Turdikulova, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Director of the Center for Advanced Technologies at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan; Jahongir Rajabov, Deputy Director of IT PARK Uzbekistan; Olimjon Tuichiev, Director of the Agency for Innovation Development.
During the negotiations, the parties reached agreements on joint activities in the field of attracting Chinese investments for the implementation of joint projects in the IT, VR, and AI sectors; attracting specialists from China for the organization of joint biotechnological research; as well as assisting in improving the infrastructure for renewable energy sources.
Additionally, a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation was signed between the Chinese Technology Transfer Center for the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Center for Advanced Technologies at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, envisaging the transfer of high-tech technologies, creating opportunities for scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs from both countries to develop joint innovative solutions, and supporting high-tech production facilities in Uzbekistan in utilizing laboratories in China.
